HEINZ OPEN KITCHEN

One of the biggest barriers Black restaurants have when it comes to getting started is lack of exposure.

To help get them that exposure, we created Heinz Open Kitchen — where we give Black Kitchen Initiative grantees the chance to takeover a celebrity chef’s kitchen in a new city.

We partnered with chef Marcus Samuelsson for both our Harlem + Atlanta events.

Harlem - Foode + Mercantile (Fredericksburg, VA)

We served over 200+ guests at the Red Rooster event and generated 33 media placements and 120.3MM impressions.

We continued with a second round of Open Kitchen - this time bringing a Charleston restaurant to Atlanta. 

Atlanta - My Three Sons of Charleston (Charleston, SC)

Both seatings for the Atlanta event sold out within 4 days. If you like math that’s 96 hours or 5760 minutes.
